K9 Recruitment places technical Epicor resources with manufacturers, distributors and Epicor partners across the US and Canada.
This is the build side of Epicor: the customizations, integrations, and automation that sit on top of a Kinetic or ERP 10 install and make it fit the business.
The Work You'd Be Doing
Customization and automation
- Write and maintain method and data directives — BPMs — including custom code directives in C#.
- Build Kinetic application customizations and Application Studio layouts, and carry legacy classic-screen customizations forward through upgrades.
- Develop functions, event-driven processes, and scheduled automation that remove manual steps from the floor and the back office.
- Debug live production issues in someone else's code without a full rewrite.
Data, reporting, and analytics
- Build complex BAQs — subqueries, calculated fields, joins across modules — that perform under real data volumes.
- Develop dashboards, Epicor Data Analytics content, and SSRS or Crystal report layouts.
- Write and tune SQL against the Epicor schema, and know when a query is going to hurt the server.
Integration and migration
- Build integrations with the REST API, Epicor Functions, and Service Connect — EDI, e-commerce, CAD/PLM, shop-floor equipment, third-party WMS, and finance systems.
- Handle data migration: extract, transform, load, reconcile, and prove the numbers tie out.
- Support upgrade and cloud migration projects on the technical side, including re-platforming customizations.
What We Look For
- 3+ years building on Epicor Kinetic or ERP 10 specifically — not general .NET experience with Epicor nearby.
- Real command of BPMs, BAQs, and the Epicor data model.
- C# and SQL Server, at the level where you can read someone else's code and improve it.
- Experience with the Epicor REST API or Service Connect for integration work.
- Enough functional literacy to understand what the business is asking for before you build it.
Nice To Have
- Kinetic Application Studio and the classic-to-Kinetic UI conversion path.
- Epicor Functions and the newer extensibility framework.
- EDI implementation experience in a manufacturing or distribution setting.
- Epicor Advanced MES, Quality, or DocStar integration work.
- Epicor partner or VAR background.
How These Roles Work
- Structure: Contract on time and materials — 1099, W2, or corp-to-corp — or direct hire, depending on the client.
- Rate or salary: Set by your Epicor depth and discussed openly on the first call.
- Hours: Full-time and part-time both work on the contract side. No minimum hour lock-in.
- Location: Nationwide.
- Duration: Ranges from a scoped build to a multi-year platform relationship.
Why Work With K9
We are an Epicor-specialized firm, so you will not be explaining what a BPM is to your recruiter. We know which clients have clean environments and which ones are a rescue job, and we tell you which is which before you take the call.

For Clients
Epicor is our bread and butter. Kinetic and Prophet 21, as well as legacy E9 and E10 — that's the overwhelming majority of what we place, and it's where our network runs deepest. We also recruit across other mid-market ERPs, including Sage, Infor, and Acumatica.
This is the most common call we get. It's rarely a software problem; usually the project is waiting on a partner's shared resources, or there's nobody internal who owns the system day to day. We place the specific person who unblocks it: a consultant to push the current phase over the line, or a permanent hire so the expertise stays with you after go-live.
Typically less than the large implementation partners. We're a lean firm placing independent consultants, so there's no partner overhead built into the rate — that's structural, not a discount. We also work purely on time and materials. You're not buying a block of hours you may not use, and you're not locked into a minimum. Tell us the scope and we'll come back with a rate the same day. Direct- hire candidate fees are based off a percentage of the candidate's compensation.
Qualification calls, reference checks, and a real conversation about how someone works, not just what's on the resume. For Epicor roles we go deeper — which product, which version, and which modules within Kinetic they've actually configured rather than sat adjacent to.
For most Epicor roles, 24–72 hours. We keep an active bench of Epicor professionals and stay in contact with people who aren't publicly looking — which is where the strongest candidates usually are.
Direct-hire placements carry a guarantee. If it doesn't work out inside the window, we find you a replacement at no additional fee. Contract placements can be ended with notice — there's no minimum term to buy out.
For Candidates
Never. We’re paid by employers, so our services are always free for job seekers.
Epicor Consultants (1099, Corp to Corp, W2), developers, analysts, administrators, data migration specialists, and technical leads — across Kinetic, Prophet 21, and legacy ERP10 and E9. Contract, contract-to-hire, and permanent.
Yes. Most of our roles can be found through our LinkedIn. Send your resume and we'll come to you when something fits — we'd rather know you before we need you and have you in our network.
Absolutely. Many of our clients support remote or hybrid options, especially for contract roles.
We work across both the U.S. and Canada. If you’re authorized to work in either country, we’d love to connect.
